Mars Bar Slice.

Over the last 3 years this has become my favourite recipe!  Sad in some ways because it is so basic and so unoriginal.  The reason it is so good though is that:
-  it is quick and can be made the day before,
- it can be put in any shaped container and transported easily without falling apart or having to be kept upright,
- it is perfect for sharing and everyone seems to love it,
- it is easy and little people can help.

So, from various Aust Women's Weekly books, the recipe is:
4x 60g Mars Bars
50g butter
3.5 cups of Rice Bubbles
200g milk chocolate, melted
Roughly chop the Mars Bars and place them in a medium saucepan with the butter.  Stir over low heat until this is all melted.  Stir in the Rice Bubbles.  Press the mixture into a slice tin and flatten as much as possible.  Spread melted chocolate over the top.  Refridgerate until set.  Slice and decorate and serve at room temperature.

This is the one we made this week to share at Playgroup.  Li decorated it with piped icing.
I love any activity that involves sticking a little tongue out in concentration.  They ended up looking like some form of hieroglyphics.
It is actually more versatile than one might think.  If I want to make it slightly healthier I add some rolled oats or chopped nuts.  I have also made it in mini cupcake form by pressing it into patty pans and there's unlimited ways of decorating these.  Mmmm, crushed candy canes on top are perfect for Christmas.
